Itinerary Levkas - Levkas

This itinerary is given as a rough guide; it describes possible anchorages for the night and  many dayly moorings are all along.

1st day: check in 17h

Levkas port is located at the north of the island and is connected to the sea by two channels, one towards the north and the other towards the south.

 Departure 18h for Nidri

A cool departure through the channel that connects the harbour of Levkas to the inland sea strewn with small islands between Levkas and the mainland of Greece

No difficulty to find a good mooring for the night. Good taverns on the quay of Nidri

2nd day: Nidri - Ithaque

Navigation amongst the islands on the way to Ithaque, at the end of a majestic fjord

3rd day: Ithaque - Fiskardo

A beautiful small harbour located north east of the island of Cephalonie

Walk to the only village saved from the seism of 1953. The frontages and the coloured shutters of its traditional houses make it as a true stage set, very crowded in summer.

4th day: Fiskardo - Zante

. The island of Zante (Zakynthos) is the southernmost Greek Ionian island. The green landscapes of the island and the very beautiful sand beaches, white or gilded with crystal water will charm you. On some of them, Caretta-caretta turtles come to breed.

5th day: Zante - Cephalonie (Assos)

Assos is an adorable small fishermen village, amphitheatre shape built.

surrounded by pine trees, cypresses and terrace cultivation; it is one of the most beautiful villages on the island. It is nested in a tiny bay protected by a rocky peninsula.

The port is facing an impressive fortress built by the Venetians in XVI century,

6th day: Argostoli - Meganisi

Meganisi is scarcely inhabited, however you will find splendid moorings

A small path leads from the mooring to the small village.

7th day: Meganisi - Levkas

The town planning of Levkas does not offer a very great interest, the earthquake of 1953 having demolished the city, but the charm still exists; the sea is omnipresent with lots of sea birds : cormorants, pelicans and herons.

8th day: check out at 09h

If you have spare time, leave your luggage to the base manager and go for a walk in the lanes of Levkas.
