Itinerary  Kos – Patmos – Kos     ( 1 week )

 

Day 1  Embarkation at 17.00 p.m.

Provisioning and check in

 

Departure at the end of the afternoon direction  Pserimos at 10 miles distance from Kos.

 

There is only one small village on the south coast of Pserimos and it has the only beach in the whole region.

Two, three tavernas, a church and you have made it around the village.

 

But if you prefer it even more calm … there is a large and deserted bay on the west side of the island.

 

 

 

Day 2   Palionisos (Kalymnos)

 

Kalymnos is famous for sponge-diving. Though the island is very dry and infertile, you will find superb anchorages here.

 

You better avoid Pothia, the port of the island where it is very noizy. Find anchorage at Palionisos: a beautiful bay on the east coast.

 

There is one taverna under the trees at 500m from the beach waiting for you.  Nicholas, former sponge-diver and owner of the taverna, can tell you many stories.  He speaks French, English and Italian.

 

 

Day 3    Lipsi

 

Another quiet port where you will admire the sunset while sat at one of the tavernas in the port.

 

Enjoy one of the beautiful anchorages on the south coast before arriving in the port.

 

 

 

Day 4     Patmos

 

The island where Saint John lived in exile and wrote the Apocalyps.

For more than 1000 years the island has been under the protection of the monastery, and for quite some time under its jurisdiction as well.

 

You will find numerous well protected anchorages along the east coast.

 

 

Day 5     Arki

 

Arki, an almost deserted island is situated about 12 miles from Patmos, On the west coast there is a deep bay used as a port and it has 2 tavernas.

 

A superb anchorage is waiting for you in the south of the island.

 

 

Day 6    Leros

 

Make a stop in the small port of Panteli on the east coast of Leros.

 

 

Day 7    Kos

 

After a last anchorage along the coast of Pserimos, you will sail to the marina of Kos at the end of the afternoon.

Spend the evening in the old town of de Kos.

 

 

Day 8     Disembarkation at 09.00 a.m.

 

If you have time enough before your departure you can leave your luggage with the supervisor of the base and visit the Asclepion, the archaeological site where the first ancient hospital was situated and Hippocrate used to teach medicins.
