Day 1     Embarkation at 17.00 p.m.

 

Provisioning and check in

If you do not arrive too late you can spend the evening in Corfu Town.

 

 

 

Day 2         Paxos   (30 miles)

 

Paxos has a surface area of 25 square kilometers and is the smallest of the seven main islands in the Ionian Sea.

  

The island has 2.400 inhabitants, who are basically living of agriculture - more in specific the cultivation of olives – and fishing.

 

The nature and landscape of this little paradise have a rare beauty. Consisted of rich vegetation ( fir trees, vast olive groves and vineyards), angular curved beaches, rocky coasts which are excavated by hidden caves.

The culminating point at Agios Isavros reaches only 217m.

 

 

Day 3          Meganisi   (30 miles)

 

Meganisi has very few inhabitants. Here you will find coasts with splendid anchorages.

 

A small road leads you from the anchorage to the overlooking village.

 

 

Day 4          Oxia    (20 miles)

 

Oxia is a deserted and beautiful island, situated at the entrance of the Gulf of Patras.

 

You will spend the evening in Oxia  and sail during the night to Itea (70 miles), which is  usually a tranquil journey.

You will pass under the new bridge that connects the Peloponnese with the mainland of Greece.

 

Anchor in the morning at Itea, a few kilometers from the site of Delphi.

 

 

 

Day 5      Delphi - Corinth (20 miles)

 

Visit the archaeological site of Delphi in the morning. Afterwards you will sail direction Corinth Canal.

Stop for the night at Corinth or at the eastern side of the canal.

 

 

Day 6        Aegina   (20 miles)

 

The closest island to Athens, yet it has a surprisingly peaceful country side covered with pistachio trees.

Aegina is Greece’s premier producer of pistachio nuts.  

Some carriages are waiting for customers along the port and there are many café terraces by the waterfront where you can enjoy an ouzo in the evening.

 

 

If you prefer a more cosy place, you can stop for the night in the small port of Perdika, a relaxing fishing village with some tavernas along the seafront.

 

 

 

Day 7           Aegina - Kalamaki  (20 miles)

 

In the morning you can visit the temple of Aphaia, overlooking the bay of Agia Marina on the east coast.

 

This impressive temple stands on a pine-covered hill with views over the Saronic Gulf and it is said to be even more beautiful than the Parthenon.

It  consisted of 32 magnificent columns, from which nowadays only 24 are intact.  

 

The temple is not very large in proportion, but you will be impressed by its beauty andartistic grandeur’.  

The magnificent sight of this subleme sanctuary will not fail to lift your spirits, as you walk away and turn around for the last time by the road.
 

 

 

Sail across the Saronic Gulf direction Piraeus (Kalamaki).

 

You can take the tramway (by the exit of the port) and spend the evening in Plaka in the centre of Athens.

 

Day 8         Disembarkation at 09.00 a.m.

 

If you have time enough before your departure, you can leave your luggage with the supervisor of the base and go and explore Athens.
