Itinerary  Kos – Santorini – Paros   ( 1 week )

This itinerary is recommended to experienced sailors  : navigations can be rather long and the wind blows in general at 5 – 6 Beaufort.

Day 1    Kos

Embarkation at 17.00 p.m.

Check in and provisioning.

Departure at the end of the afternoon to Pserimos about 10 miles distance from Kos.

There is only one small village on the south coast of Pserimos and it has the only beach in the whole region.

Two, three tavernas, a church and you have made it around the village.

But if you prefer it even more calm … there is a large and deserted bay on the west side of the island.

Day 2   Astypalea

Long navigation of 50 miles.

Astypalea is part of the Dodecanese, but its environ and architecture will remind you of the Cycladic islands.  The small port and the village with its white washed houses are dominated by an old fortress. You will discover the peace and quiet of islands far away from civilization.

If the weather is not serene you can find anchorage at Maltezana, in the centre of the large bay formed by the two sides of the island.

You will find shelter there to recover from long navigation and prepare yourself for the next day.

Taverna under tamarind trees.

Day 3    Santorini

One more navigation of 50 miles.

Santorini is famous all over the world and you will be more than overwhelmed as you enter the huge crater.

Santorini is not an easy island for sailing-boats, but you will find a mooring at the foot of Oia village in the north. Then walk up the cliffs or ride a donkey and enjoy the most beautiful view of the island. Oia village has much less tourists than Thira, the principal port.

Day 4    Ios

On the way to Ios port, you will enjoy swimming in the turquoise waters of Manganari beach in the south of the island. The long white sanded beach is well protected from the trade winds.

Once you have dropped anchor in the harbour and taken care of your yacht , you will climb up the hill to one of the most beautiful villages in the Cyclades. You will experience a most entertaining night life here.

Day 5   Skinoussa

Situated in the heart of the Small Cyclades, Skinoussa is a combination of all sceneries in the Aegean. A well protected small harbour, a few tavernas right on the seaside and a white washed village a few minutes up the hill.

Though this is a small island, you will enjoy impressive views of both sea and land.

Day 6    Dhespotiko

Dhespotiko is a deserted island separated from Antiparos by a very narrow channel.

You will moor in the east of the passage, don’t try to cross when the sea is agitated. The turquoise color of the water indicates a depth of only 2 m.

Last tranquil anchorage with very good taverna in Antiparos.

Day 7    Paros

If the wind is too strong you can sail back to Paros through a very narrow channel between the island and Antiparos.

There are many opportunities to anchor for a swim.

Day 8    Disembarkation at 09.00 a.m.

If you have some free time before your flight or ferry, you can leave your luggage with the supervisor of the base and visit the traditional Cycladic town of Paroikia.
