Itinerary Gocek (1 week)

 

An Itinerary for every one looking for terrific moorings in one of the most beautiful areas of the Mediterranean

 

 

1st day: Gocek

 

 

Check in at 5 p.m.

 

In the end of afternoon, sail to Tomb Bay, your first bay of the Gulf of Fethiye.

A beach covered of oleanders, the ruins of an antic city, a splendid landscape and a small restaurant; you are already under the charm

 

 

2nd day: Gemile

 

In Gemile you will have the choice of your mooring, if you arrive early anchor close to the island of Gemile for a trek in the ruins of an Byzantine city which was once an holy stages on the way to Jerusalem before being destroyed by an Arab incursion

A good restaurant for the evening, in full nature, in a small cove in front of the east of the island: Sogut Su

 

 

A very beautiful trek to do, starting from Sogut Su: 40 minutes walking to arrive in the Greek village of Kayakoy. The 10.000 inhabitants moved out in 1923, during the exchange of population between Greece and Turkey which concerned more than 1 million people. The site is not inhabited any more

 

 

3rd day: Ekincik

 

Ekincik is the starting point of a surprising trip in the Dalyan River.

 

Dock or moor on late afternoon; you will always find your place in this large bay, and reserve a local boat for next day morning.

4th day: Dalyan

 

Leave early to avoid heat when visiting the ruins of the ancient city of Caunos.

 

After the visit of Caunos, go to Dalyan village, have a look to the wonderful rock tombs and have a rest in one of the numerous restaurants

 

 

Return to your boat in the afternoon and sail to the cove of Kapnia, in the east of Disibilmez, a surprising bay in an old crater.

5th day: Fethiye

 

One of the most beautiful Lycian tombs there: that of Amyntas (IVe before J.C.)

 

 

 

The town of Fethiye is very pleasant in the evening. Choose a restaurant in the bazaar.

The next morning go to the market.

 

 

Most adventurous will try paragliding (with a professional instructor!) from the top of the Baba Dag (2000m) one of the highest spots in the world and a splendid landscape, you will land on the beach in Olu Deniz

 

 

 

 

 

6th day: Gulf of Fethiye

 

Here there are too many splendid moorings to advise you rather one than the other.

 

Trust your instinct and stop for the night close to one of the small restaurants nested in the end of the bays.

 

Those which want to walk will find very beautiful treks.

 

 

 

 

7th day: Gocek

 

One day to discover all hidden moorings of the Gulf.

 

You can also make a trek to the ancient Roman city of Lydae which overhangs a bay at the western entry of the Fethiye gulf.

The site is in full nature and you will have the impression to be the first discoverer for it.

8th day: check out 09 hours

 

If you have spare time, leave your luggage to the base manager and go for shopping in the streets of Gocek
